FOMO #31 BARBARA KRUGER “I SHOP THEREFORE I AM” Barbara Kruger is an American conceptual artist and collagist associated with the Pictures Generation. She is most known for her collage style that consists of black-and-white photographs, overlaid with declarative captions, stated in white-on-red Futura Bold Oblique or Helvetica Ultra Condensed text.

FOMO #29 MARTIN KIPPENBERGER “DOWN WITH INFLATION” This FOMO NFT is sampled from German artist Martin Kippenberger’s two-part oil and silicone painting, “Down with Inflation” from 1984. Kippenberger’s hard living, prolific, production is steeped in an irony that interrogates our tastes, beliefs and how value is created and justified. He did this using a disorienting number of techniques and materials.
FOMO #21 NEW ORDER “POWER, CORRUPTION, & LIES” We sampled the colors of this FOMO NFT from the eponymous record “Power, Corruption, & Lies” by English band, New Order. First released by Factory Records in May of 1983, this album is widely considered to be one of the greatest records of all time. The widely influential graphic designer, Peter Saville, created a color-coded system in place of the band’s name and the title of the album. The floral painting on the cover is a reproduction of Henri Fantin-Latour’s “Basket of Roses”
FOMO #32 PRINCE “1999” “1999,” released in October 1982, is the fifth studio album by Prince. Including the eponymous hits “1999” and “Little Red Corvette” it was Prince’s first top 10 record and is often referred to as his breakthrough record. Jimmy Jazz and Terry Lewis often site “Lady Cab Driver” as their favorite Prince song ever.
